This set is a high quality reproduction intended for use with Tiffany-style, copperfoiled lamp shades. The 4" diameter cap is cast brass and patinated. A solid 4" diameter brass ring is provided to solder directly to the copperfoiled lamp shade opening. The 4" cast wheel supports the brass ring from below and takes the weight of the lampshade. We purchased this set back in the 1980's from Odyssey.
